While this is not so many KMs distance on the map, it was a long day of riding - but all good. To the ferry at Poto Tano and the crossing was fast and easy. But the real highlight was the north coast of Lombok. For some reason, I was expecting it to be developed, but it was incredibly not so, with long stretches of complete desolation, and amazing views of Mt. Rinjani, 12,000 ft high and lots of black sand beaches with no settlements or people - one can only expect what this picture may look like in 20 years' time. Once I got to Bangsal, I parked the bike at the port, and then headed over to GiliT, back after 32 years. It's changed a lot, but still a great place. Stayed 2 nights, made a few inquiries about doing a dive instructor course, more to follow.
